Granite State Kids Community Tennis Association
Why wait until high school to join a tennis team? Granite State Kids is a local Community Tennis Association that brings together boys and girls, ages 5 – 18, to play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
GSK is part of the United States Tennis Association and a NH 501 c 3 non profit corporation. We have provided junior tennis instruction and competitive junior team tennis for the last 23 years to over 2700 children.
All levels of ability can participate in our summer program – beginner through advanced. We use modified equipment for the beginning and younger players to allow kids to play quickly. This makes tennis fun from day 1. We play on the County Road Courts in Bedford. Registration and further information is available on our Summer Tennis Program page.
Each summer we provide job opportunities for high school and college students who have played GSK. Job opportunities include assistant coaches, site managers, and administrative assistants. The essential job skill is enthusiasm and a love of tennis.
GSK is a welcoming and inclusive program that has had great success. Numerous players have attended college and played tennis on either a competitive or club level. Several summer teams have advanced to play at the USTA JTT National tournament over the past 18 years. Most of our players start learning strokes and end up playing on their high school tennis teams. The local high schools have very strong tennis teams – playing GSK from a young age has been a huge advantage. Junior team tennis is a competitive, level-based environment that promotes individual growth, social growth and life skills. Kids learn that success isn’t only about winning; it’s about how you play the game and respond to challenges.
We asked kids who’ve played GSK for a one-word description of the program. Responses ranged from Wicked awesome – ok 2 New England words – to “Summer of a Lifetime.”
We have a lot of information and photos on the website. Come play with us, make some great new friends and start a great life skill!
